Welcome to My Contradictory Life

Welcome my homies, peeps, and any other hapless soul who may trip upon this blog.

I have been writing for My Contradictory Life for quite a while, but this is the first actual time it appears on something other than Facebook.

With this blog you will find all kinds of subject being approached, some may offend, some may be silly, and others might make you smile.  It is purely for entertainment, however if you smile or something provokes thought then that’s bonus!!

First I would like to introduce everyone to my furry support staff.  First is Jeb, a 10 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is the ruler of this house. Second is my son’s 8 year old Australian Shepherd, Bailey, whom I call Meatball (will explain that in a future blog). Next we have the beautiful 5 year old Australian Shepherd, Minxy. She is my black beauty. Lastly, there is Sassy, a mouthy, but sweet soon to be 4 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Whoever named Sassy pretty much pegged her from the start because though she is the smallest of the crew she is definitely the loudest!

Now, about me. I am Sharon. I am almost 55 years old, I was born the day Marilyn Monroe died so look that up and you will know when my next birthday will be.

I was born in Elmer NJ, raised in a small town in eastern North Carolina, Norfolk, and Portsmouth, Virginia. So I am a yankee born, southern transplant, but I am definitely a southern girl (and I use that term loosely).

I have been married twice, the first ending in divorce, the second left me a widow. I have two children, Kayla, 28 and Justin, 23.

I currently work for a major family style restaurant chain and I am an artist.

As an artist I have been a free lance cartoonist for a publishing company in Wheatridge CO, I have had work accepted into the Dog Museum in St. Louis, MO. and most recently I had a sketch that was purchased by the Chincoteague Natural History Assn. and turned into prints and note cards. My work can currently be viewed on my business Facebook page, CorgiNuts Sketches. I am a member of the Chincoteague Legacy Group which is a small group of people who pool their funds every July in order to purchase a pony that will be put back on the island to live out its life. I will probably explain more about that later.

I have many friends and acquaintances, but only a few truly close friends. My best friend, is Susan! We went to high school together and reconnected several years ago and have remained BFFs for quite a while.  She is an amateur photographer, who takes some amazing photos.  Some days I don’t know what I would do without her.

So, this is me, basically. I am like an onion, with so many different layers, so it may take a while to get to know me really well, but hopefully that will come in time.

More than anything I want this blog to be fun.  I will include recipes that I have tried, cleaning tips, health tips, pet tips, travel tips, and anything I feel should be passed along.  I hope that you all will pass this along and make it a part of your daily routine.

So again…..welcome to My Contradictory Life, the title I will explain in further detail in the next blog.

Today’s Featured Photo is a beautiful Black Swallowtail Butterfly. The photo was taken by Susan at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Chincoteague, Virginia…..

That’s it for now. It’s a scorcher out there so keep in mind hydration and check on your furry support staff, makes sure they have plenty of fresh water available and shade. Extra scritches and an extra biscuit to them for their devotion and loyalty to you and please remember…..

Play nice ya’ll!!!!
